The Chart Lab annotation workflow

Every client session uses this four-step sequence. The Lab wall in our District 11 classroom displays printed examples so you can compare your marks against a consistent standard.

1

Frame the timeframe

Write the primary and context timeframes in the top-left corner of your chart export. Example: "Daily structure / 15m entry." This prevents reviewing a five-minute entry against the wrong swing high.

2

Draw structure before entries

Mark support, resistance, and the last swing that would invalidate your thesis. Use horizontal lines with short text: "prior day low — held on retest." Entries come after structure is labelled.

3

Label the trade decision

Place a coloured arrow at actual entry, a dashed line at planned stop, and a bracket for target zone. Add one sentence: "Entered on volume spike after consolidation — stop below wick low."

4

Close with a review note

After exit, append a sticky-style text box: outcome, rule followed or broken, and one change for next time. This is the section most traders skip — and the one we emphasise in workshops.

Chart Lab reference sheets are included with every workshop seat and coaching package. You may photograph the wall examples during sessions but may not redistribute them commercially.
